Brick to Click: Decoding the Dynamics of O2O Evolution in Brick-and-Mortar Stores in the Residential Neighborhoods of India

Commercial centers are the repercussions of aggregated economic activities leading to the flow of capital and employment. The increasing digital agility among consumers has led to a shift in commerce. With the introduction of dark stores and brick-and-mortar stores entering the platform mode of commerce, the digital era is also reshaping traditional commerce. This research analyses the factors responsible for integrating online- to-offline (O2O) in the brick-and-mortar (B&M) stores in an Indian context. The evolution of commercial transactions over time was also explored to understand the shift trend. This study analyses the current situation of urban commerce and offers insightful information on the variables influencing the integration of online and offline sales in physical retail establishments. The interaction between the current dynamics at the nexus of digital and physical commerce leads to the extraction of components, which adds to a comprehensive knowledge of the dynamics of new-age urban commerce.
