The Effect of Circuit Training on Reactive Agility and Anaerobic of Table Tennis Performance
摘要
Reactive agility and anaerobic abilities are essential aspects of table tennis performance, as they require fast movement in response to stimulus and movements with high intensity. There has not been much research on physical training on the combined physical components of reactive agility and anaerobic table tennis, due to good physical ability, athletes are able to achieve peak performance. This study aimed to determine the effect of training circuit training on reactive agility and anaerobic performances in table tennis athletes. This study used an experimental method using one group pretest-posttest design, with the subjects including 14 male junior athletes of table tennis. The participants conducted a circuit training program as many as three times a week for six-week. The data were collected using measurement tests, consisting of the table tennis reactive agility test and the Multistage Fitness Test. After that, the data were analyzed using paired t-test. The study showed that the effectiveness test of reactive agility obtained a p-value of 0.000, and anaerobic obtained a p-value of 0.000. Therefore, it can be said that training using the circuit training method before and after using the circuit training program had significant differences. This study concluded that circuit training programs could improve reactive agility and anaerobic table tennis performance. For further research, it is expected to be able to innovate combined reactive agility and anaerobic training programs specifically for table tennis, and also add references to table tennis physical training.
