Dickinson’s Nature of an Ecocritical Aspect
摘要
Up to now, most of today’s ecocritics fail to see the ecological or ecocritical dimension of Dickinson, with only very few studies on the poet from this perspective. Lawrence Buell, an eminent and leading scholar and ecocritic, does mention Emily Dickinson’s robin, a bird that frequently appears in her nature works, but as one of the examples of an anthropocentric treatment of a bird, instead of an ecocentric one. This in some way fails to recognize it as a sign of ecological consciousness.
