This paper presents a systematic review of fact verification research, examining verification techniques across evidence retrieval and veracity prediction, along with their supporting datasets. We analyze the current landscape of fact verification systems, and provide future directions in this field. Our analysis provides a comprehensive framework for understanding state-of-the-art approaches and identifies promising directions for future research.
