Microwave processing has emerged as an innovative and sustainable approach to material processing, offering significant advantages over traditional methods. This study explores the application of high-frequency microwave energy across various material processing techniques such as sintering, joining, glazing, cladding, and drilling. With frequencies ranging from 300 MHz to 300 GHz, microwaves provide rapid, uniform heating, which enhances both energy efficiency and material properties. The internal heating effect of microwaves enables faster processing times and lower temperatures, particularly in sintering ceramic materials, resulting in improved densification. Microwave energy has also proven effective for joining plastics, ceramics, and metals, enhancing bonding strength and reducing processing time. In addition, microwave glazing has demonstrated improvements in surface hardness, microstructure refinement, and surface finish, while cladding offers reduced thermal stress and cost advantages, especially for large surface areas. The innovative microwave drilling technique is particularly effective for hard, non-conductive materials, utilizing localized heating to facilitate material removal. This study underscores the potential of microwave technology as a more sustainable alternative to conventional methods, reducing energy consumption and processing time while improving material performance. As industries seek more eco-friendly and cost-effective solutions, microwave processing presents an attractive, forward-looking option for material treatment and innovation.

摘要
