Pediatric interventional radiology (IR) is an emerging sub-specialty of IR, which warrants dedicated training to handle complex endovascular procedures. An image guidance is used to perform a myriad of minimally invasive procedures, ranging from simple vascular access to complex interventions in children. Interventions in the pediatric age group vastly differ from the adult population, as various factors like patient selection, radiation protection, vascular access, hardware selection, and drug dosing are to be taken into consideration for a safe outcome.
