Bone Tumors
摘要
In children, benign tumors are more common than malignant lesions. Initially radiographs are obtained for assessment of suspected osseous tumors, but subsequently cross-sectional imaging can be done for further characterization of these lesions and evaluation of their extent. Imaging is important at each step in the management of children with bone tumors. It helps to identify the tumor, provide information to prepare a list of differentials for the lesion, stage the tumor, and helps guide biopsy procedures. It can assess response to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, follow-up lesions, and identify recurrent disease after completion of treatment.
