Buzan and Acharya and many others encouraged to explore non-Western sources of wisdom of international relations theory. I think that reviving Ibn Khaldun’s thought and incorporating it into the theory of international relations, not only sociology, would add a great contribution to the discipline and to our understanding of the international order and its evolution. Concepts such as the “coercive hand” and “Ghaleb and Maghloub,” as well as the analysis of the climate conditions and their effect on the development and boldness and softness of nations, and hence the rise and fall of nations, are of great significance to the field. Actually, I believe that the incorporation of his thought into the IR discipline is an academic act of the struggle of the global south in the direction of the academic liberation from the Western-centric subjugation of the IR theory as a discipline.
