Indian Immunologicals Ltd. is a One Health company with 40 years of glorious existence. IIL is a research-to-market company offering cost-effective solutions to address various unmet needs in healthcare business. IIL manufactures and markets several veterinary biologicals and human vaccines in India and abroad. IIL is the largest producer of human Anti-Rabies vaccine in the world. IIL is one of the largest supplier of human vaccines to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the largest supplier of animal vaccines to Ministry of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (Government of India). IIL operates four manufacturing plants and employs 2000 people. In 2022–23, IIL clocked a turnover of Rs.918 crores and PBT of Rs.252 crores. IIL has successfully developed several vaccines in the human health segment including recombinant Hepatitis B vaccine, Pentavalent vaccine, DPT vaccine, Td vaccine, Rabies vaccine, Hepatitis A vaccine, Measles-Rubella vaccine and is currently working on Hexavalent vaccine, IPV trivalent Sabin based vaccine, Bivalent Typhoid conjugate vaccine, 15 valent Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine, Dengue, Zika and Codon deoptimized live attenuated COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccine platform used for manufacture of vaccines at IIL are Live attenuated virus, inactivated virus, recombinant subunit vaccine, live attenuated bacterial vaccines, bacterial toxoids and conjugated polysaccharide vaccine. IIL manufactures bacterial and viral vaccine in liquid adjuvanted and lyophilized presentation. During the Covid 19 pandemic at the request from Niti Aayog, IIL rose to the occasion and augmented India’s Covid 19 vaccine capacity by producing Covid 19 drug substance in record time. This effort has been lauded by Government of India.
