This work offers a simple multi-attribute decision-making (MADM) approach based on dominance relations for pruning the alternatives and selecting the optimal alternative phase-change material (PCM) for energy storage applications. The proposed method is explained using a recent case study. The results of other well-known MADM methods are compared with those of the suggested dominance-based method. It has been demonstrated that the suggested approach is clear-cut, easy to use, devoid of fuzzy logic constraints, and flexible enough to handle PCM selection problems in various scenarios while still offering a logical means of assigning weights to the attributes.
