A Fuzzy DEMATEL Approach to Analyze the Barriers to the Adoption of EVs Among Consumers of West Bengal
摘要
India, at present, fulfils all energy requirements by fossil fuels due to the low implementation of electric vehicles. Due to this, the government of India took several initiatives to endorse electric vehicles among consumers in India. Alongside a similar intention, the West Bengal government has provided multiple incentives and subsidies from June 2021 for penetrating Electric vehicles in the conventional vehicle market. However, West Bengal is the fourth most populous state in India, and till now, only 48,767 Electric vehicles have been sold in this state. Therefore, in this paper, the obstacles to the implementation of Electric vehicles in West Bengal have been recognized and analyzed by the fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory method. The outcome of the study would suggest that electric vehicle manufacturers, distributors, and the government of West Bengal take the necessary steps to motivate consumers to accept Electric vehicles over conventional vehicles.
