摘要

Innovative coating techniques have significantly improved and enhanced nanomaterials’ biocompatibility, bioactivity, and corrosion resistance. This chapter focused on the most recent and cost-effective coating techniques, such as Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD, Chemical Vapor Deposition, Plasma Spraying, Electrospinning, and Sol–Gel for medical device applications. It provides a detailed analysis of nanocoating applications, including improvements due to smart and self-healing coatings by responding to environmental stimuli, preventing infections, and enabling controlled drug release. Researchers explore the role of nanomaterial-based coatings in improving patient care. Furthermore, it discusses the use of these technologies in important biomedical areas, including orthopedic implants, cardiovascular stents, and dental implants. This chapter also highlights the relationship between nanotechnology and advanced nanomaterial coatings for biomedical device applications, offering insights into the future of biomedical engineering.
