This study aims to explore how integrating an online attack-defense simulation platform and peer competition learning strategies can enhance students’ practical network technologies, internet-security, and cooperative learning attitudes, particularly among students with varying levels of prior knowledge. A quasi-experimental design was employed, with students from a technological university in Taiwan as the research subjects. A total of 99 valid questionnaires were collected, with the 2023 cohort serving as the control group and the 2024 cohort as the experimental group. The research hypotheses were tested using one-way ANOVA and ANCOVA through the JASP software. The results revealed that students in the experimental group significantly outperformed the control group in practical skills, internet-security, and cooperative learning attitudes. Consequently, this study recommends the promotion of this teaching strategy and attack-defense simulation platform to optimize learning outcomes in related courses.
