Hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) is an immune-mediated disease that manifests as interstitial lung disease (ILD) in susceptible individuals after exposure to an identified or unidentified factor. Recently, two official guidelines, the official American Thoracic Society (ATS)/Japanese Respiratory Society (JRS)/ Asociacion Latinoamericana del Torax (ALAT) clinical practice guideline in 2020 and the CHEST guideline and expert panel report in 2021, were published. In addition, JRS published Japanese clinical practice guide 2022 in Japanese in 2022, and English version in 2024. Japanese guide basically followed ATS.JRS/ALAT guideline; however, the four Japan-specific annotations were added to facilitate the interpretation of the content and correlate the medical situation in Japan. The comparison of two guidelines and one guide was described.
