This chapter extends our analysis by incorporating environmental damage into the economic model. Specifically, we examine how a new element to our existing model: the damage function. This function is a common reason why governments decide to implement climate policies. With this new piece in our model, we can explore how to design the most effective climate policy. We will also examine different perspectives on what constitutes an “optimal” climate policy, considering various factors and objectives.
