Design and Experimental Study of Rock Anchor for Pull-Out Test

Rock anchors are used to enhance the stability of foundations and concrete structures under applied loads. These rock anchors, capable of withstanding substantial forces and crucial for securing the foundations of buildings, can fail due to steel tensile failure, bond detachment, or rock mass fracturing from uplift forces. Assessing the internal tensile and shear forces resisted by anchors is crucial for verifying their structural adequacy. This paper presents the design, installation, and test data of anchors, focusing on the bond strength between grouted anchors in soil and rock. Comprehensive parametric analyses were performed, considering the yield strength of anchor, the bond stress between rock and grout, and the bond adequacy at the steel-grout interface. The results demonstrated the elongation of rock anchor, strength of the rock-grout and steel-grout interface in soil and rock due to uplift force.
