Comparative Analysis and Study of Application of Surcharge and Its Effect on CPTu Parameters
摘要
This paper describes the preloading of surcharge and prefabricated vertical drains (PVD) idea used in offshore land reclamation. The undrained shear strength of the soil was calculated using the piezocone penetration test (CPTu). This assessment of the consolidation values and their extent was conducted using PVDs as a ground improvement technique. The focus of this study is to examine the surcharge effects on pore water pressure along with cone resistance and sleeve friction against the penetration depth. The data obtained while performing CPTu is useful to evaluate geostratigraphy, soil types, water table and also other engineering properties. In this paper, comparative analysis and evaluation of variations in CPTu parameters obtained before and after application of surcharge on clayey soil. Effective changes in CPTu parameters can be seen as rate of consolidation increases due to surcharge load.
