The Comparative Study of Evaluation of Shear Wave Velocity from Geophysical Test and Standard Penetration Test Using Regression Curve
摘要
Since the assessment of earthquake damage is reliant on ground motion, it is an important aspect of ground improvement. The features of earthquake motion are determined by the shear wave velocity (Vs) at the spot. Shear wave velocity is a crucial factor to take into account while doing geophysical research, site classification, or micro-zonation investigations. It is essential for site characterization to ascertain shear wave velocity through an empirical correlation when it is impractical to conduct the test at every location because of equipment deficits, a lack of accessible open spaces, and the cost of initial instrumentation. This study looks at the Vs profile from a geophysical test to find the correlation between the soil’s corrected SPT value and the shear wave velocity for different soil types.
