Case Study on Avalanche Barrier at Kargil, Leh
摘要
Avalanches are massive quantities of snow, frequently combined with ice and debris, that descend rapidly and unexpectedly down the slopes of mountains, causing devastation in their wake. They present a significant danger to highways and railways that traverse mountainous regions, as well as to the inhabitants residing below the mountain. The paper offers with the results of avalanche barrier on the dynamic functions of unconfined flows along with particles avalanches in coarse-grained materials. Barrier should mitigate the ones threats via way of means of decreasing the flow speed and the runout distance in addition to diverting the flow closer to lateral zones limited via way of means of the limitations. Detailed design procedure and installation of avalanche barrier at Kargil, Leh is presented in this paper.
