This paper aims to analyse a raft-soil system to understand the soil modulus of soil-raft behaviour. In the analysis of all three components, viz superstructure and soil (sand as foundation deposit) were considered as a single compatible unit. The foundation soil layer is considered to varying thickness. The results of linear and non-linear soil and two different moduli of soil are compared. The non-linear soil had lesser settlement than linear soil. The non-linear soil had higher bending moments than linear soil. The non-linear soil had lesser contact pressure than linear soil.
