Experimental Study on the Effect of Reduction Temperature of Iron Ore Briquette on Fe Content in Sponge Iron
摘要
The production of sponge iron (Fe) via the direct reduction process has been advocated to yield efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally sustainable steel. This process necessitates perfect circumstances, especially concerning feed resources like iron ore, coal, and heavy oil. This study aims to examine the impact of reduction temperature on the reduction behavior of iron ore briquettes, including mass loss fraction, reduction rate, and iron content in sponge iron. The experiment was especially conducted on iron ore briquettes from Aceh, Indonesia. The findings indicated that the mass loss of iron ore briquettes accelerated with elevated reduction temperature and rate. This indicated that high-temperature reduction of iron ore briquettes resulted in increased iron concentration in sponge iron.
