In this chapter, real-world case examples are used to illustrate the echocardiographic features of different types of cardiomyopathies including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, takotsubo cardiomyopathy, arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy, obesity cardiomyopathy, non-compaction cardiomyopathy and amyloid heart disease. Echocardiographic appearances of different forms of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy are also discussed. Diagnostic features and management of the different cardiomyopathies are elaborated with reference to current practice guidelines recommendations.
