Synthesis, Characterization, and Antimicrobial Activity of Rh-Doped Titanium Dioxide Nanoparticles
摘要
Co-precipitation and ultrasonication procedures were used to synthesize visible light-sensitive material-based rhodium-doped titanium dioxide nanoparticles. The produced nanoparticles were calcined at varying temperatures. The Rh-doped TiO2 nanoparticles were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and UV–vis spectroscopy. XRD analysis indicated the crystalline nature, crystallite size, and tetragonal structure of the synthesized sample’s anatase phase. The TEM method further demonstrated the crystalline character of the synthesized nanoparticles. Rh, Ti, and O elements in the crystal lattice were confirmed using the EDS technique. FTIR analysis examined chemical interactions and functional groups at the nanoparticle interface. The improvement in visible absorption of Rh-doped TiO2 was investigated using UV–VIS spectroscopy. The effect of synthesis processes was also investigated in this study. The antibacterial activity of the acquired samples was also assessed using the agar well diffusion method.
