Majority water used in the construction, right from the manufacturing stage till execution of building construction happens with use of potable water. Depletion of water table, no proper means of recharging groundwater and scarcity of potable water is posing a major threat in urban areas. The current study aims at identifying the percentage use of water during various construction phases, replacement of potable water usage with secondary treated water and the applicability of blocks manufactured using secondary treated water. Cube Compressive strength of 25 MPa blocks manufactured and cured using secondary treated water were found to be 1.2% more than the conventional blocks cured under potable water at 28 days. This experimental research studying the performance of concrete blocks with treated water cured in treated water is one of the ways to address the reduced dependency on potable water.

摘要
