Intelligent Drainage Cleaning System with Real-Time Sensing and Automated Waste Disposal
摘要
This paper presents the design and development of a Smart Drainage Cleaning and Monitoring System, aimed at automating waste management in drainage systems. The system is powered by an Arduino UNO microcontroller, integrating ultrasonic and soil moisture sensors to monitor water levels and detect the presence of solid waste in real-time. The system efficiently collects and disposes of garbage into a designated bin by activating a servo motor-driven conveyor belt that is controlled by an L293D motor driver when an abnormality is recognized, such as rising water levels or waste materials. A rechargeable lithium battery powers the system’s autonomous operation, and a feed-back loop mechanism allows it to adjust cleaning tasks. To guarantee effective energy utilization, the system processes sensor data locally and modifies activities in response to current conditions. Wire-less communication modules can be incorporated for improved functionality, allowing for remote monitoring and alert generation for maintenance staff. Built to last and be simple to install, the system makes use of sturdy components like solar board sheets and PVC pipes to endure challenging drainage conditions. With an accuracy rate of 95%, 90%, and 93%, respectively, the system makes use of an Arduino UNO microcontroller interfaced with an ultrasonic sensor for water level detection, an IR sensor for trash monitoring, and an LDR sensor for light intensity measurement. The solar-powered system runs sustainably, sustaining steady power levels for long stretches of time. This creative method guarantees ongoing drainage maintenance, minimizes physical intervention, and supports sustainable urban infrastructure.
