摘要

5G has introduced unprecedented speed, reliability, and low latency in telecommunications. 6G is expected to enhance these capabilities further. OpenRAN architectures for these networks offer notable cost efficiency and operational flexibility advantages but introduce greater complexity in deployment and orchestration. This study critically evaluates four OpenRAN orchestration systems across five essential factors. The findings reveal limited support for multi-vendor interoperability and significant variability in the systems’ practicality and coverage of use cases. While some systems focus on specific RAN functions, others adopt a more holistic approach. Furthermore, inconsistent key performance indicators (KPIs) complicate direct comparisons.
