Long-Term Environmental Impact of Modified Solidified Red Mud Road Use

Based on the physicochemical activity of bulk industrial solid waste represented by red mud, the key technology research on the large-scale regeneration road use of bulk solid industrial waste is carried out, which can not only save a large amount of road filling soil and reduce engineering costs, but also provide a new attempt for the resource utilization of bulk industrial solid waste. However, the pollutants in red mud will be released into the environment during the long-term use of it as road filling material, posing a risk of pollution to groundwater, surface water, and seawater. Therefore, to protect the environment, the environmental impact of solid waste such as red mud in road engineering application and operation is a focus and difficulty of its large-scale utilization. This chapter mainly analyzes the environmental impact indicators of red mud road use, evaluates its pollution control effect, and studies the long-term environmental impact of modified solidified red mud road use.
