Jungola has designed patent-pending adaptive nature solutions that simultaneously address the hard problems of unsustainable urban homes suffering global boiling, unemployed urban marginalised women and post-consumer waste. This paper studies its innovative manufacturing model/cloud fulfilment ecosystem that offers agency, flexibility and fungibility to women beneficiaries. We find that its contrarian design does more with less and sensibly bends in favour of co-creating shared value as evidenced by the sharp monthly growth in upcycling output and engagement of women beneficiaries. The manufacturing model/cloud fulfilment ecosystem democratises dignified, convenient and unitised upcycling work-from-home jobwork for urban marginalised women beneficiaries. It organises beneficiaries in women’s self-help groups (SHGs) and engages them via walk-in neighbourhood Craft ATMs and simple and quick transactions digitised into cloud. By its leaner, energy efficient, carbon-negative and women-friendly design, the fulfilment ecosystem reimagines solutions and co-creates shared value for multiple stakeholders—urban homemakers, urban slum women, waste producing consumers and companies, waste pickers, sellers and recyclers community, social/philanthropic organisations, carbon credit buyers, climate funds/investors and CSR corporates. We also argue that seen through the lens of Resources Based View, the company’s resources embed valuable, rare, and difficult-to-imitate characteristics effectuated through a networked organisational design, thereby creating a sustainable competitive advantage.
