This chapter focuses on digital innovations in recycling, waste management, and resource efficiency so that a circular economy can be attained. Similarly, blockchain is used for supply chain transparency in applications and operations. Many innovations and technologies have been implemented in developing countries, and many are rapidly emerging. These range from mobile-based applications addressing disease burden, enhancing agricultural productivity, and providing educational services to radical breakthroughs in biotechnology, energy generation, and artificial intelligence. This salary places technology as a critical variable in transformation for development and sustainability, arguably amid unprecedented global concerns about jobs, growth, hazards, and security-related threats. Once adopted, there is momentum whereby technology becomes a macroeconomic expansion or recession force. If too many investments are made in an identical approach, convergence can cause sluggishness if it is subsequently discovered that supply does not match demand (the technology mismatch effect). It is, therefore, essential that evaluation, impact, and performance assessments are made so that lessons can be learned.
