Digital Innovation Capability, Managerial Digital Innovation Orientation and Firm Performance: A Comparative Study Based on Multiple Linear Regression and Machine Learning Algorithms
摘要
This study investigates the impact of digital innovation capability and managerial digital innovation orientation on firm performance, using a sample of digital industry firms listed on China’s STAR Market. In addition to constructing multiple linear regression models, this paper employs machine learning regression algorithms to further explore these relationships. The results consistently reveal that digital innovation capability has a significant positive effect on firm performance, while managerial digital innovation orientation exerts a significant negative impact. The machine learning models also highlight the non-linear nature of these effects, with Random Forest and Gradient Boosting models demonstrating enhanced predictive power. Moreover, interaction analysis suggests that managerial digital innovation orientation weakens the positive influence of digital innovation capability on firm performance. These findings offer both theoretical and practical insights for firms undergoing digital transformation, underscoring the importance of optimizing managerial strategic orientation and enhancing digital innovation capability through data-driven approaches.
