Science and Technology Innovation and Regional Economic Growth in Universities in Three Northeastern Provinces-Dynamic EBA-Based Analysis
摘要
2020 marks the concluding year of China’s strategic pursuit to join the ranks of “innovative countries.” As a key component of the national innovation ecosystem, universities’ scientific and technological innovation has managed to break the stranglehold of external intellectual property monopolies through independent research, thus acquiring core technology. This core technology is set to give a major boost to the nation’s scientific and technological innovation and fuel regional economic growth. This paper reveals that thanks to the geographical edge of universities in the Northeast, innovation support and the capacity to convert scientific and technological achievements can really make a difference in driving economic growth. However, the scientific research investment of universities in the three northeastern provinces pales in comparison to that of the Yangtze River Delta. As a result, scientific research investment in the Northeast hasn’t had a positive impact on economic growth.
