Sustainable and Ecological Production of Pavement Pavers in Peru: Integration of Construction and Demolition Waste with Sugarcane Bagasse Ash

The research focuses on sustainable production using construction and demolition waste (CDW) in Peru, specifically focused on the production of pavers by adding sugarcane bagasse ash percentages of 15%, 30% and 45% to the mix. of CDW aggregates, cement and water. Therefore, the behavior of the pavers was evaluated based on these specifications. Firstly, the compressive strength of 210 kg/cm2 was evaluated, the best performance was observed with 15% bagasse ash, obtaining a maximum resistance of 235.1 kg/cm2 after 28 days of curing the paving stone. Likewise, for the compression resistance of 175 kg/cm2, the best performance was observed with 15% bagasse ash, which showed the best result, with a maximum resistance of 201.6 kg/cm2 after 28 days of curing the paving stone. These results indicate that the best combination in terms of resistance was achieved with 15% sugarcane bagasse ash in both designs. However, the higher percentages of this additive of 30% and 45% tend to decrease the resistance of the paver. Finally, the study demonstrates the possibility of taking advantage of construction and demolition waste and natural additives such as sugar cane bagasse to produce pavement pavers that comply with the Peruvian technical standard (NTP) 339.034:2015, which ensures quality and performance. of pavers, such as compressive strength, durability and in terms of environmental sustainability it promotes greener practices which also drives innovation in the construction sector and climate change.
