Empowering Role of Private, Public, and Individual Change Makers for Global Warming
摘要
Global warming is a complex challenge and intervention requires a harmonized approach at the private, public, and individual levels. This paper would analyse the importance of adaptation measures in meeting this challenge of global warming under the emphasis of the efforts exerted by the private corporations, the public institutions, and individual change-makers. Besides, adaptation in the private sector goes about the sustainability strategy aimed through CSR initiatives as well as innovation in green technologies, turning business models to be in line with environmental sustainability. Public adaptation aims to lower current climate risk and increase resilience across sectors, with an emphasis in vulnerable communities, through policy interventions, infrastructure development, and regulatory frameworks. Governments and the international community are the main actors transforming these systems through environmental policies and climate action plans. At the level of the individual, lifestyle change, advocacy, or grassroots movements can contribute meaningfully towards a low-carbon economy. Important change-makers at the individual level involve environmentalists, scientists, and community leaders. The three adaptive pathways discussed within this paper are eventually interlinked; through mutual synergies, they can accelerate climate action and drive efforts at all levels towards developing holistic solutions that address the existing climate impacts as well as instil long-term resilience.
