This paper proposes a method to generate distractors, that is, false options for multiple-choice questions on information technology. We are developing a system for repeated practice of qualification examinations on information technology. In this paper, we propose a method to give variations on existing multiple-choice questions for repeated practice. The method uses distractors in a past question to generate new distractors in addition to the true option. Then, we evaluate the accuracy of the proposed method using practical data of a national examination. The proposed method can realize a system for repeated practice, which is expected to reveal improvement of basic academic skills about information technology.

摘要

This paper proposes a method to generate distractors, that is, false options for multiple-choice questions on information technology. We are developing a system for repeated practice of qualification examinations on information technology. In this paper, we propose a method to give variations on existing multiple-choice questions for repeated practice. The method uses distractors in a past question to generate new distractors in addition to the true option. Then, we evaluate the accuracy of the proposed method using practical data of a national examination. The proposed method can realize a system for repeated practice, which is expected to reveal improvement of basic academic skills about information technology.
