It has gained popularity for easier access to the disc space with a lower risk of neural injury, direct neural decompression, and a unilateral approach for inserting the fusion cage and bone graft [1]. However, bleeding control, neural decompression, and disc space preparation in the limited space of the tubular retractor are still challenges.
