A Study on International Efforts to Develop Multilayer Ceramic Chip Capacitor Technology
摘要
Electronic components are broadly divided into active components, passive components, and mechanical components. Active components such as ICs have functions of processing electricity and transmitting signals. Passive components, such as capacitors, do not transmit signals, but rather regulate voltages and currents so that active components can properly process and transmit signals. In the past, Japanese companies led other countries in the technological development of some active components such as ICs, and held an advantage. However, there have since been some movements that suggest that Japanese companies have been caught up by overseas manufacturers. Therefore, this study focuses on MLCCs, a type of electronic component, and uses patent information to analyze how each country responds to each failure mode. As a result, the superiority of Japanese firms was derived.
