Steelmaking and continuous casting (SCC) productive process involves multiple links, and the proper scheduling for the SCC can improve the production efficiency, reduce energy consumption, optimize production plans, and provide more accurate and reliable decision support for steel enterprises. The intelligent optimization methods are the key strategies for solving the SCC scheduling problem. Therefore, this paper reviews the solution of SCC scheduling problem based on the intelligent optimization methods. Firstly, we introduce some applications of intelligent optimization methods in the SCC scheduling problems, and summarize their characteristics. Secondly, we divide the SCC scheduling problems into the static scheduling and the dynamic scheduling, and discuss the solving methods under different constraints. Finally, we point out the future research direction and significant contents to promote the further research.
