Identifying Drivers and Barriers of Leagile Manufacturing in the Dairy Industry

The dairy industry is under pressure to adapt to changing consumer demands and sustainability requirements, necessitating the implementation of adaptive manufacturing systems. Leagile manufacturing, a combination of Lean and Agile methodologies, presents a viable approach for dairy manufacturers to achieve operational efficiency and market responsiveness. This research focuses on identifying the barriers and drivers influencing the adoption of leagile practices in the dairy sector through a comprehensive analysis involving expert consultations and literature reviews. Data collected from industry specialists using a standardized questionnaire revealed varying average ratings for different factors, emphasizing the significance of key elements such as acceptance sampling and supply chain management. The study underscores the importance of addressing cultural and behavioral obstacles to leagile adoption and highlights the potential benefits of leagile strategies in enhancing supply chain resilience within the dairy industry. This research contributes valuable insights for academia and industry practitioners seeking to effectively implement leagile principles in the dynamic dairy sector.
