With abrupt changes in living standards, economic instability, and excessive use of social media platforms, people are observed to be vulnerable to mental disorders. Mental disorders lead to an increase in stress levels which causes severe neurological complications in humans such as depression, suicidal tendencies, and other psychiatric problems. AI with its advanced tools has provided support for the prediction, monitoring, and planning of mental health illnesses in the population. AI has provided predictive models that can analyze health records, brain imaging, and clinical notes to identify mental disorders. AI is prevalent in analyzing social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and many more for diagnosing depression in the user by extracting critical information from the tweets and comments posted by them. In this chapter, we have discussed the salient features and limitations of various AI-based predictive models useful in addressing mental disorder complications at an early stage.
