Pollution is an alarming issue in the current world. Pollution is observed in three main forms, namely land, water, and air pollution. Land and water pollution are mainly caused due to the stagnation of materials that do not lose their identity and which do last for over a hundred years due to their non-degradability. Plastic is one such kind of material that is being daily used in our everyday life and when not properly disposed of has adverse effects on the environment. A detailed study on the development of the preparation of bioplastics which can degrade and manage to offer the same properties as that of conventional plastics is being done. An increase in weight percentage of 131.26 is observed in the pure starch-based bioplastic which has been brought down to a minimum of 44.9% when blended with PLA in the water degradation test. The reactivity of the bioplastic toward acids, and bases and its reactivity toward water have been done. Tests for degradability and thermoplasticity also have been done on the plastics in this study which ensures the wide usability of the developed plastic.
