Techno Feasibility Study of the Solar Chimney with Storage: A Case Study Based on Climatic Data from the States of North-Eastern India

The current study is concerned with the heat transfer modeling and analysis of a solar chimney with a storage system. A theoretical method was used to consider and provide a techno feasibility analysis for Guwahati, a metropolis in north-eastern India. Heat gain via the glass cover, heat gained in storage, and heat loss from the glass cover due to convection and radiation are all taken into account. For the sake of this investigation, climate data based on April 15, 2021, has been assumed. Based on the rated 5 kW output of the solar chimney, data such as the velocity of air at the chimney entrance and electricity provided in 24 h are shown. It has been established that operating a solar chimney with a 5 kW power output is difficult; nevertheless, the above-mentioned system may run much lower than the 5 kW output. One of the novelties, along with the technical feasibility analysis of the solar chimney plant location in north-eastern India, is the heat loss from the collector’s glass cover for computing the output parameter.
