Recently, researchers have looked for a comprehensive plan to lessen the negative impacts of synthetic chemicals in agricultural production in order to increase quality and output. By preventing the negative environmental consequences of pesticides and chemical fertilizers and safeguarding soil and water resources, biostimulants help plants. Plant biostimulants, also known as bioactivators, are gaining popularity in the agricultural industry because of their ability to accelerate a plant’s growth and strengthen its tolerance to stress. Since biostimulants can improve crop quality, nutrient assimilation, growth rate, and stress tolerance, they are widely employed. This chapter offers a comprehensive analysis of the function of elicitors in agriculture, emphasizing their capacity to improve crop protection and foster sustainable agricultural practices. Elicitors, chemicals that activate the innate defense systems of plants, have garnered considerable interest in recent years for their capacity to enhance crop resilience against biotic and abiotic stresses. This chapter examines the progress and utilization of elicitors in seed treatments, biostimulants, and precision agriculture, emphasizing their economic and ecological advantages. Despite existing hurdles and constraints, including regulatory factors, the application of elicitors in agriculture has surfaced as a viable strategy for fostering a more sustainable and resilient agricultural system.
