India has a rich cultural tradition. The world’s first residential university was founded in Nalanda in the thirteenth century. Indian Knowledge System (IKS) contains a plethora of information from Bharat, India. It has influenced the country’s culture, civilization, and way of life for thousands of years. It combines intellectual manuscripts, ancient Vedic literature, and Indigenous tribal folk tales. The blend of Indian philosophy and practical knowledge is an important component of the IKS, which continues to influence contemporary Indian thoughts and development. The key elements of IKS include Vedic knowledge. The ancient system of Indian mathematics is known as Vedic mathematics which is recognized for its practical and pedagogical applications because of its simple and efficient methods of solving mathematical problems. Large Language Models (LLMs) offer tools for interactive learning, explanation, and practice. The present study focuses on Vedic mathematics and LLMs collectively to compare the modern and traditional methods that can help the pedagogical changes to improve the learning outcomes of a wide range of mathematical concepts. This study presents the comparative analysis of processing the numerical inputs using various methods like the neural network-based approach, transformer-based approach, and traditional approach.
