The isolation of antennas in MIMO systems are the major issues faced due to mutual coupling, especially in dual band antennas operating in mm-wave spectrum. This project aims in designing of a dual band MIMO antenna operating at the frequencies 27/37 GHz, respectively. A 1 × 2 MIMO system with Teflon as a substrate (Dielectric constant = 2) is designed for mm-wave applications, with meta-materials for isolation. The other possibilities for isolation were tried and analyzed, instead of increasing the distance between the antennas. The gain of dual band antenna, directivity, far-field parameters, far-field cut parameters, and efficiency were analyzed at 27/37 GHz, respectively, using ADS. The overall size of the MIMO antenna is 11.07 × 16.2 × 0.5 mm3.
