Integrated Communication and Navigation Based on Orthogonal Time Frequency Space

Communication and navigation performance have approached their respective theoretical limits, and the integrated communication and navigation has become a new academic and industrial hotspot. The integration of communication and navigation can save spectrum and hard-ware resources, reduce hardware costs, effectively alleviate the increasing shortage of spectrum resources, and further improve the performance of communication and navigation. As a new modulation method, orthogonal time frequency space modulation system converts fading and time-varying wireless channels into time-delay Doppler channels and encodes information in typical high mobility environments, which can effectively combat Doppler shift in multipath propagation channels. This paper focuses on integrated communication and navigation technology with orthogonal time frequency space modulation. Firstly, the value of navigation integration and its research status at home and abroad are discussed. Secondly, the key technologies of integrated communication and navigation are analyzed, including waveform design, performance boundary of integrated system and integrated signal processing methods. Finally, the future directions are discussed, including adaptive anti-jamming navigation fusion technology, communication-assisted cooperative positioning technology and artificial intelligence-assisted integrated communication and navigation.
