In the progression of mobile communication technology towards 6G networks, the role of ultra-large-scale antenna technology is pivotal to meet escalating demands. This paper investigates its application within 6G networks, exploring deployment scenarios, design objectives, antenna morphology, system performance, and energy-saving schemes. Examining optimal placement for signal coverage in high-density urban areas and challenging terrains, it delves into design goals aiming at enhancing capacity and connectivity across various scenarios. Investigating antenna morphology, it analyzes beamforming capabilities, radiation patterns, and adaptability to dynamic environments. System performance evaluation considers data throughput, latency, and reliability, shaping insights into technology’s impact on network capabilities. Addressing energy efficiency concerns, the paper explores power consumption, optimization algorithms, and environmental footprint minimization.
