A Wearable Antenna Made of Leather Based on the Adidas Brand for UWB Applications
摘要
This paper presents the design, simulation, and fabrication of a novel UWB textile antenna utilizing leather as the dielectric substrate, with a thickness of 2 mm. The antenna integrates the Adidas ® logo as the patch, complemented by a ground plane that covers one-fourth of its surface. To enhance performance, notch inserts were introduced into the ground plane and multiple slots were added to the patch, enabling optimization across UWB frequency ranges while achieving an optimal gain profile. The experimental results demonstrate a wide operating bandwidth from 3.23 to 11.53 GHz, supporting diverse applications, including high-speed Wi-Fi networks in the 5.8 GHz band and high-precision positioning and localization systems within the 8.5–10 GHz range. The design and optimization were conducted using ANSYS HFSS software through an iterative simulation process. This work contributes significantly to the development of UWB textile antennas by showcasing an innovative approach to design and fabrication, and it provides a foundation for advancing wireless wearable technologies.
