Performance Enhancement of Multiband Terahertz Patch Antennas Using Complementary Split Ring Resonators
摘要
A compact octagonal patch antenna tailored to achieve efficient performance in the THz frequency range is presented in this paper. Departing from conventional designs, this antenna employs a ground plane loaded with multi hexagonal shape complementary split ring resonators (HCSRRs). The proposed antenna operates at five resonating frequencies below − 10 dB reflection coefficients. These frequencies are measured at 1.15 THz, 1.55 THz, 1.85 THz, 2.1 THz, and 2.7 THz, with corresponding bandwidth of 0.3 THz, 0.1 THz, 0.1 THz, 0.1 THz, and 0.6 THz, respectively. Moreover, the antenna demonstrates gains of 4.4 dBi, 7.3 dBi, 7.7 dBi, 6.7 dBi, and 9.28 dBi at the aforementioned frequencies, respectively. The overall floor area of the proposed antenna is 460 × 460 × 20 μm3. Radiation patterns for the antenna are also presented, showcasing its suitability for various THz applications.
