Drawing on signaling and stakeholder theory, the aim of this paper is to investigate the impact of CSR on job seekers’ organizational attractiveness, taking Western Odisha as a case. This study uses a qualitative approach to understand the CSR and HR professionals’ perceptions about CSR. Purposive and convenient sampling were used to select both the sample frame. The interview notes were further analyzed using thematic and matrix analysis. The data was treated in the Nvivo software. The findings support the two concepts of signaling and stakeholder theory, as most respondents believe that the organizations that develop CSR competencies based on their internal and external CSR practices, are more likely to attract potential job seekers. This study combines the theoretical viewpoints of signaling and stakeholders theory to understand the perceptions of industry professionals about CSR and its impact on the organizational attractiveness of job seekers. Very limited studies have attempted to find such relationships. This study has a noble contribution as it empirically found out how CSR can be a strategy for attracting job seekers.
