Optimising Health and Performance During International Cricket Travel
摘要
International cricket players and their support teams spend extended periods travelling worldwide due to the sport’s global nature and competitive structure. Intensive travel schedules pose many challenges, including fatigue, jet lag, poor nutrition and hydration, and risk of illness, all of which can impact players’ physical and mental health, well-being and performance. A holistic approach is recommended for developing strategies to help mitigate international travel challenges, focusing on circadian adjustment, stress management, sleep hygiene, nutrition, hydration and health. Education of athletes and support staff, proper planning and the development of travel strategies that are both practical and evidence-based are essential to allow players to maintain peak performance, health and well-being amidst rigorous travel schedules.
